Welcome!

The Summer Institute is co-sponsored by the
Yale Center for Faith and Culture's Reconciliation Program.

At Pathways for Mutual Respect, we are aware of the urgent need for conciliatory progress in global conflict areas.  Far from being a merely idealistic goal, we believe that ordinary people, properly equipped, can become agents of effective change.   Our long term work involves peacebuilding and reconciliation between the people of the US and Iran.  We're also passionate about stewarding our expertise to empower individuals and communities in the West for more effective intercultural relations with the Islamic world.

The journey towards mutual understanding, respect and trust is one winding through hills and valleys.  It can be difficult to find and even more difficult to stay on.  We believe it takes true humility, willingness to first listen, a sober look at our own shortcomings, and commitment over time.  This approach won't work for everyone, but in the most intractable situations, nothing else has worked either!

Simply put, Pathways creates extraordinary opportunities for ordinary, very different people to engage one another in intercultural discovery, dialogue, and collaboration - more often than not resulting in life changes for everyone involved.  If this rings with you, why don't you consider joining us.  We're pretty confident you'll be glad you did.
